School of Wilderness Survival & Traditional Skills

Our world today has forgotten its roots. Humans lived sustainably as hunter-gatherers and horticulturists for thousands of years on this Earth. This program gives you the knowledge and wisdom vital to remember and remake a culture connected to the land.

Full-Time Wilderness Immersion

Change your life and develop a deep connection to nature. Our 9-month Wilderness Immersion Program on the Oregon coast recreates a world that must be revived. Our team of expert instructors guide you through studies in wilderness survival, permaculture, wild plants and the ancient art of tracking.

You are immersed in an intensive and supportive learning community connected to leading movements in sustainability. Over the course of this program we visit Rabbitstick Rendezvous to experience bushcraft and primitive skills, we work on team leadership through implementing collaborative lessons from Trackers Earth and we support the natural building and permaculture movement by taking part in City Repair's Village Building Convergence.

Since joining TrackersTEAMS I have had the opportunity to explore new perspectives; my mind has been opened to a beautiful and sacred way of living that resonates with my core. I have been able to confidently learn and share my knowledge in a peer based environment, where intimidation is null and the benefit of the village is key. -Lyndsey Blythe, Student

Ranger and Wilder, artisan and mariner

Our seasonal curriculum is divided into four guilds in the traditional arts...

The Rangers Guild are our hunters and warriors. They are the scouts for the village, masters of wilderness survival, tracking and awareness. The best Rangers are said to be invisible, ghosts in the forest.

The Wilders Guild are our caretakers, gardeners and leaders. They tend to the balance of an ecosystem. They listen to the land, helping abundance and diversity flow. They guide the needs of the People into harmony with the needs of all life around them.

The Mariners Guild runs the waterways. They build boats, fish and demand respect for the rivers and seas and all life in them.

The Artisans Guild are theater folk, bards, fine crafts folk and more. They carry the stories, reminding us of what is creative, edging us to what is wild.
