Land and Family

Rebuilding the Village

To read build a village connected to the land we must truly understand the power of relationships. Knowing facts about salmon, deer and the wilderness is not enough. You must care for them as though they are your brothers and your sisters. As though they are your family.

Children Connected to the Land

What is now known as "nature deficit disorder" is becoming epidemic. Any change in our world begins with returning children to deep connection with the land they live. As simple as it sounds, there must be ponds for them to catch frogs in, berries for them to collect and mentors who are willing to explore both the quiet and epic moments in nature.

Family Through the Seasons

Family means familiarity. The seasonal rounds of harvesting through spring, summer, fall and winter bonds us not only to each other, but all other life in the land we live. Every year, the ceremony of simply living, our connection to where we root ourselves grows deeper.
